On-site Vacuum and Leak Detection Training:

Instructor: Al Schoolcraft (over Forty years of Analytical Vacuum Experience ) Al comes to us from Los Alamos National Labs. He has been an instructor for the local American Vacuum Society and taught numerous vacuum and leak detection at companies and government agencies throughout the Southwest.

Intense Vacuum and Leak Detection Training course: A pre-test will be given to determine each students current level of vacuum knowledge. Duration: Forty (40) hour course, five days 8 hours or four days 10 hours are required. This is not a general vacuum course.

Tuition: $2,500.00 per student (check or credit card).

Course Outline:

1. This course will start with vacuum fundamentals.

2. How vacuum is produced (rough, high and ultra-high vacuum )

3. Applications for vacuum and leak detection.

4. Powers of ten.

5. Leak Detection.

6. Pumps 760 Torr to 10-12 Torr.

7. Types of systems.

8. By the end of this course, the student will be able to draw vacuum systems, select pumps, valves, gauges and materials you will need.

9. What materials are not to be used for vacuum and leak detection applications.

10. A vacuum technology textbook will be provided in the cost of the program.

11. Everything leaks! The difference between a virtual leak, outgassing or a true leak? Can we live with small leaks?

12. Welding issues that makes leak detection difficult.

13. Leak Detection using several different techniques.

14. Discussion on troubleshooting, terminology.

15. A (10) ten% discount for (3) three or more from same facility

16. Customer cancellation must be made (15) fifteen days prior to the start date.

18.Material contained in the vacuum manual will be used for tests; no open book for tests. A review of vacuum manual will take place the day before test.
